Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program with Marike Knight

Often stress feels like a necessity while the thought of pausing creates total anxiety, worry and guilt that we should be achieving more, bigger, better and faster. So how do we learn to mindfully pause in the general craziness of trying to get ahead? Whilst we juggle family, work, social life & health and the ten thousand other things currently on our mind, how can we learn to cultivate time to balance the realities of our busy schedules?

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction otherwise known as MBSR has been widely recognised and scientifically proven to be the most effective mindfulness program in the world, in helping people to manage stress. Over this eight-week immersion into mindfulness, participants will learn how to cultivate tools that assist in increasing focus and creativity, building immunity and overall health as well as discovering greater contentment and happiness in life and within themselves, even when facing stress, anxiety, illness, injury and general life busyness.

Term Dates:

7th February - 27th March

Thursday* evenings: 7pm - 9:30pm  (however the last week will take place on the Wednesday due to Easter Break)

Silent Retreat day: Sunday 


$850 +GST per person for 8 weeks and 31 hours of face to face tuition


Bare in mind this is an in depth course that takes a bit of commitment. Over the 8 weeks each participant is required to: 

  • Have a short  phone interview with Marike prior to commencing course to determine eligibility
  • Attend 2.5 hour group classes each week for 8 weeks
  • Attend an all-day retreat that occurs on a Sunday as detailed above
  • Engage in 45 minutes of mindfulness practice daily between classes as homework to foster the development of the new habit of mindfulness (this is in addition to 31 hours of tuition)
